More about the home group concept

Concept

An Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) home group is a local meeting or series of meetings that an individual designates as their official AA meeting. Home groups are an important part of the AA fellowship, and they can help members stay sober by providing accountability, structure, and a sense of community:

Accountability

Home group members are expected to show up and make progress in their recovery.

Structure

Regular meetings and chores can help members avoid overthinking and idle time.

Community

Home groups can provide a sense of continuity and belonging, and members can find a social life and make friends with others wishing to get and stay sober.
